A STRAIGHTWAY TO UNHAPPINESS
A lovely letter came to me this week from actress and theatre producer Hayley Carmichael, with a salient Jungian truth attached! Thank you so much, Hayley, for your sweet words and your kindness. Much love to you, Susie x
Dear Susie,
I take great pleasure in the beautiful images and snippets you share in Stuff.
This quote came my way recently and I thought I'd share it with you as it seems so apt for how you and Nick choose to be in the world.
Warmest wishes,
Hayley

Dear Miss Hardy,
It is of course a somewhat hopeless task to advise an unknown person of her course of life across the width of the ocean. I can only tell you one thing: that you should not set out to seek happiness for yourself. This will be a straightway to unhappiness. You better ask where and how you could be useful to whom. Happiness is not a thing one seeks. It comes to you as a reward for efforts.
Yours sincerely,
Carl Jung
