Mary Oliver - willing to be dazzled
The Ponds
Still, what I want in my life
Is to be willing
To be dazzled-
To cast aside the weight of facts
And maybe even
To float a little
Above this difficult world.
I want to believe I am looking
Into the white fire of a great mystery.
I want to believe that the imperfections
Are nothing-
That the light is everything…
“The most regretful people on earth are those who felt the call to creative work, who felt their own creative power restive and uprising, and gave to it neither power nor time.”
Some beautiful words from the most wonderful poet Mary Oliver who died last month. We love her writing here at The Vampire’s Wife. Love, Susie.
