Father Yod and The Mystic Road

Father Yod

Be Still and Know that I AM GOD.
Be Still and Know that I AM.
Be Still and KNOW.
Be STILL.
BE.

I’ve just been reading The Mystic Road purported to be based on Father Yod’s teachings. Now as far as cult leaders go Father Yod seemed pretty wild. A former US Marine, World War II hero and alleged bank robber, he transformed himself into a natural foods restaurateur, polygamous leader of a LA based hippie cult called The Source Family and vocalist for an experimental rock band, Ya Ho Wha 13. Father Yod had 14 'wives’ (he only married one) and 3 children. His ‘wives' were named Makushla, Isis, Astral, Heaven, Prism, Aquariana, Harvest Moon, Galaxy, Lovely, Paralda, Hypatia, Tantalayo, and Venus with Robin (now Ahom) forming the group. His children were Tau, Buttercup and Yod.

His music, I‘ve got to warn you, is not for everyone, but there is definitely something there buried deep within it - and, well, his disciples looked great! Father Yod died in a bizarre hang-gliding accident in 1975. Love, Susie x
