CUBAN UNICORN

CUBAN UNICORN

Here is a letter that was sent to my husband’s Red Hand Files by someone called Amanda from Mexico. The song is by the Cuban Troubadour Silvio Rodríguez and it called ‘Unicorn’. It is very beautiful and I thank you Amanda for sending this haunted piece of music. How often a sad song can put that little bit of meaning in your life that goes on to make it a happy day. Thank you for this—my husband or I had never heard it before. Lovely. Love, Susie x

Hi Nick, today I felt like showing you a song that’s very dear to me and my family, by the Cuban troubadour Silvio Rodríguez. It is called “Unicorn. ” It is in Spanish but I will tell you what it is about. It is a song about grief and loss hidden in a surrealistic tale about a man who lost his blue Unicorn. The man is making an add for people to call him if they have any information about where it might be. He is willing to pay a lot of money to anyone that can bring the unicorn back to him. I think is very beautiful and unique and I hope you can enjoy it and see how special it is.

With love, Amanda
