A CHILD SWIMS BETWEEN TWO BOATS

I was listening to a recent song of Nick’s called Albuquerque, which refers to ‘a child swimming between two boats in a lake in Africa.’ This is a memory of mine from when I was a child, maybe four years old, navigating the crocodile and hippo infested waters of Lake Malawi! Nick has made this memory his own, part of our collective narrative. It feels like my husband and I talk to each other through our work. It feels like we are engaged in a running conversation in songs and dresses. Love, Susie x
