EMILY DICKINSON'S BIRTHDAY
Today is the birthday of the great Emily Dickinson. Emily would lower her poems in a basket from her bedroom window to her beloved readers. She wrote the most haunting and puzzling poems of any poet I know. Here is a verse I adore. Love, Susie x
One need not be a Chamber—to be Haunted—
One need not be a House—
The Brain has Corridors—surpassing
Material Place—
Far safer, of a Midnight Meeting
External Ghost
Than its interior Confronting—
That Cooler Host.
