ALL WILL BE WELL

Julian of Norwich (1342 -1416) was a mystic and theologian and author of the first book written in English by a woman, Revelations of Divine Love. An anchorite that spend much of her life in permanent seclusion in her cell, wrote these words, in the time of the plague—

All will be well,

And all will be well,

And all manner of thing shall be well

I have written this above my workspace in my home in Brighton, and often I take a breath and stare at these words, and take a breath and stare at these words, and take a deep breath and stare at the wonder of these words, and try to remember that the one life we all share is going somewhere good.
